Kerinci National Park (Ladeh Panjang Wetlands, Mt. Belarang, Lake Duo, Lake Nyalo, Lake Kecik, Manjuto River, Lake Kaco)
Day 1: Sungai Penuh
Early breakfast at hotel, 7-9 hr drive from Padang to Sungai Penuh and stay at a homestay.
Day 2: The Ladeh Panjang Wetlands
Early breakfast at hotel, 2-hr drive to Kersik Tuo and collecting all camping equipment. drive to Buntu village, and start trekking to Ladeh Panjang Wetlands at the western foot of Mt. Kerinci and deep within the Kerinci Seblat National Park, is the highest wetlands in Southeast Asia at over 2000 m in elevation. The marshlands and the primary forest surrounding it are home to a wide variety of wildlife, including barking deer, tapir, and tigers; The trekking will cross a small sulfur vent at Mt. Belarang. Explore the wetland area for any tigers, go to the campsite on the edge of the marsh. Setup the camp, night walk around wetland and stay night in tents.
Day 3: Lake Duo
Early breakfast and bird watching, pack the tent and back to Kersik Tuo. 3-hr drive to Lake Duo (on the way an optional lake, Lake Nyalo). Setup camp at the Lake Duo and enjoy the afternoon swimming or rafting on the lake and exploring the area. stay night in tents.
Day 4: Lake Kecik, Manjuto River
Breakfast and bird watching around lake. Pack the tents and head in to the Lake Kecik, where take a short rest. Continue the trekking to deep forest and make camp near a cool mountain river, Manjuto. Stay night in tents.
Day 5: Lake Kaco
Breakfast and bird watching around the river forest. Continue hiking through untouched forests to Lake Kaco, the brilliantly blue, swimming hole and natural aquarium deep in the forest, with crystal clear waters. Swim around and refreshing at this underground spring-fed natural pool makes Set up camp in the forest surrounding the lake. Stay night in tents.
Day 6: back to Sungai Penuh
Early breakfast and bird watching around the lake, pack the tents and back to road. 2-hr drive to Sungai Penuh and stay at a homestay.
Day 7: back to Padang
